National Sports Day is celebrated in the college premises of Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia in memory of the greatest field hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand. The event started at 11.00AM with the inaugural speech of Dr. Shahjahan Ali Ahmed, Principal, Nabajyoti College, Kalgachia. The principal enlightened the students with important historical facts about Major Dhyan Chand and concluded his speech after taking the pledge with all the teachers and the students. The in-charge teachers and secretaries of both minor and major games took initiative to accomplish various sports among the students and faculties to fulfil the purpose of the day. Students took part in various sports like musical chair, tug of war, plank and the faculty members also joined enthusiastically in sports like musical chair in order to encourage the students of the college. The celebration of National Sports Day come to an end with the prize distribution to the winner students and teachers by the in-charge teachers of major and minor games.
